You were so excited to sign up to serve with the preschoolers.  You have been serving in the same classroom with the same preschoolers for months now.  But, something is wrong!  You don’t feel like you are making any difference at all. You constantly find yourself asking:

Are they even listening to what I am saying?

Are they remembering any of the stories we are sharing?

Do they even know my name?

You are making a BIGGER impact on those preschoolers than you could ever imagine!  What you are doing matters.  What you are doing is making a difference in the little hearts and minds of preschoolers.

What you don’t see is that those little preschoolers…

…are getting in the car and sharing the Bible story with their moms and dads.

…are running around their house singing the very same songs you taught them on Sunday.

…are telling their moms and dads all about you and how you helped them with their craft.

…are going home and praying at night, just like YOU are praying with them.

…are watching you and seeing what you are all about.

What you don’t see is that…YOU ARE A HERO!!!

They are looking up to you, more than you will ever know.

It was last year that my preschooler wanted to dress up like his small group leader for Halloween.  He didn’t want to be his favorite character from Disney.  He didn’t want to be Batman, Superman, or Captain America. He wanted to dress up like his small group leader (khakis and button down shirt)….because his SGL was his HERO!!!

So, those days where you feel like they aren’t listening and you aren’t making a difference, just remember…

You are making a difference.  You are making a lasting impression on the heart of a preschooler!  Please remember the impact that you are making on those little creations that God has allowed you to invest in.  You have been given a platform that few are blessed to have.  Your influence will make a lasting impression on those little hearts!

Thank you for being a HERO.
