Yesterday I had a 45 second conversation with a parent.

That doesn’t seem like a lot of time.  And it really isn’t. But it was plenty of time to tell this mom that her 5 year old boldly stated that cleaning his room was an easy request to obey.

She found that funny yet very helpful as house cleaning was on the agenda that afternoon. She planned to test his resolution.

I pointed out the Bottom Line for the week on her child’s God Time and sent them on their way.

I have no idea what might come from that 45 second conversation. My hope is that when mom is looking for ways to teach her son the value of obedience this week, she’ll remember our conversation. My hope is that she’ll fish out that God Time for that valuable Bottom Line. That she’ll take 10 minutes each night to do an activity with her son so that together they can learn about obedience.

I always enjoy the opportunities I take to Cue the Parent. It doesn’t take much of my time. It just requires an intentional approach.

What are ways that you Cue the Parent?
